Hi, is it all editing or software things? We went through 3 hardware configurations while making the planet. Mark's mac looked like Frankenstein's monster by the end.
Are there any other technical or IT people at the college that can help. We needed heaps of assistance.
When your frustration levels lower, give us some details of what would help you out. Do you need more computing resources, storage space or monkeys, perhaps?
I've calmed down now. And yes, Michael, I've got some help. But if you want to drop on by, that'd be great:)
Basically as stated in an earlier post, the rendered stuff was suddenly unrendered. Ted went back in and tried to fix all of it but I don't think that he realized to what degree I have altered almost every shot (cropping, color balance, brightness).
When I watched the DVD that he burned for me, there were so many weird things popping up (freeze frames where there was to be action, full frame where there was to be widescreen, and not a single disolve except for the opening credits was there...gremlins live in my world) I had over three pages of notes of what went wrong and finally gave up deciding that the best thing to do is go over the problems with Ted (and he is going to wipe his hard drive and load all of my hard drive stuff onto his) this weekend shot by shot effect by effect. We will need lots of coffee...and of course, monkeys!
I was pretty frustrated when, for some reason, all of my transitions, and all my music tracks, showed up unrendered when I was editing "JBI"...but I hadn't done any filtering or color correction (and it was only 20 minutes long).
WOW, this probably isn't helping much. I go back and delete everything I just typed, but I think it would take longer than posting, sorry.
