Green Screen

We did some green screen work with Ron and the guys from ITT. He's assembled a group of talented and excited dudes and dudettes who are willing to meet on Saturday mornings for extra-non-school related activities.

Here a couple of the guys are rigging lights to get an even glow on the green screen.

Tim. The light meter guy. He's been doing a lot with the green screen lately.

Tucker (standing) aids with the light board. He works at the college TV station and has been a great help.

Some of the ITT Dudes.

Working on my tan.

The camera looks bigger when normal sized people stand next to it...

Ron Lewis. International Guitar Hero champion...

...and Demon Wrangler.

When we realized that we weren't going to be able to do our Drifter Demon in CG, I went old school and built a model of Sculpy and about 20 sticks of Hot Glue for texture. It's lit from inside (as you can see) and heavy. The shoot went aces and Ted, who was there tho not pictured, has done some great stuff combining Michael Clark's cloud fly-over with the Green Screened Demon.

No CG drifter? Huh?!? I thought you had someone able to work with the model I did.

We did...he disappeared. If I had a dollar for every guy who disappeared while working on this project, I could fund another movie. BTW, I'd like to include the CG stuff you did of the original drifter on the DVD extras.

Don't worry Allen, the internet is full of people saying they can do stuff. Very few are professional though.

Hope you can save the shots where the CG drifter was needed.

...tis a shame, it really just needed to be rigged and the glow added. all the special effects done later, such as what you mentioned Ted is doing with your sculpy model and Michael's scenes.

I know. You did a lot of work on it but the student that was rigging and lighting it dropped out and disappeared. He was also doing some other work for us as well but Michael stepped in and did that.

I'd offer to do the drifter too but I've got 3 film proposals on the go here and the marketing for removals.

The planet release in the states next month is looking a lot bigger than we imagined. MTI video are putting a lot of effort into marketing it. I'm looking forward to being hated internationally as the trator Taylor.

It was my favorite scene...mainly because I was certain you weren't going to pull the trigger!
