You think you're close, but then you aren't...

I'd not looked at the "final rough cut" edit (as I am calling it) for some time. But then the other day I watched it on a computer that didn't have a sound card. What blew me away was how many mistakes and bad edits there were. FIVE PAGES WORTH! Sound really covers a lot of errors, I guess.

You know, good sound doesn't cover bad edits and mistakes. Good edits and getting rid of mistakes does. (unles you're in hollywood of course).

You have to be really tough as a director, if something isn't working get rid of it or threaten it. I'm not a director though, I'm too nice :)

Any chance I can get a look at the rough cut? I promise to be brutal with my suggestions!!

I so agree, Michael. Some edits were only 4 or 5 frames, while others were entire scenes that just didn't work. I hacked off a good seven minutes. I miss some of the stuff (cause it looked good, but didn't advance the story) but the story is tighter now.

And Jon, as soon as I can burn a new disc with these new scenes and add the narration, I'll send you a copy.

Suh-weet!

On another note you'll be pleased to know that everyone's favorite, giant, gay care bear is now living in chicago... spreading his free love to those who need spell-check!

EXCELLENT! I still use his book as an example of the worst book ever printed. My wife challenged me to find one paragraph that didn't have a misspelled word or grammatical error...it took me over 65 pages and two days to find one...

For those of you who don't know what Jon and I are talking about...we are referencing the ONLY person to ever be fired from the production of Darkness Aftermath. DIVA!
